For the first time in a long time, I woke up to a quiet house on Thanksgiving morning. No mom cursing at 6am trying to get a giant bird in the oven without waking any of us, which never worked. No smells of holidays creeping upstairs to my room to wake me up. No pounding headache from overconsumption for Thanksgiving Eve…and that is definitely something to be thankful for!
If you’re cooking today, take a moment to enjoy, and tell me on the Facebook wall what your successes were! And if you’re lucky enough to be enjoying someone else’s cooking today, remember to be thankful, mindful, and if you’re dying for their dressing, ask for the recipe! And then tell us all about it.
I wanted to take this quiet moment to say thanks to you, the people who read and follow this blog. In less than a year, I’ve fallen in love with Eat it. Drink it. and it’s all due to you. I’ve been inspired by you, pushed by you, and often I feel responsible to you…all of which makes writing this that much more important to me. So thank you.
On this happy day of overindulgence and delightful warmth, I say this to you. Eat it. Drink it. You KNOW you want to.
